TOM RIEHL - Host /Producer
Combining equal parts humor and cooking expertise, Tom Riehl has discovered a way to make everyone’s kitchen experience fun!  A self proclaimed “non graduate of any legitimate cooking school”, Tom believes anyone can be a great cook if they have the desire to learn.  “When I first started working in restaurants, cooking was looked down on as sort of a menial profession. Then the Food Network was born and cooking was cool.”

Tom spent the first part of his adult life working in east coast dinner houses before making his way to California.  For the next twelve years he would work as District Coordinator for a national restaurant franchise.

In 1992, Tom embarked on yet another culinary conquest. Host and producer of Food Rules, an outrageous, off-the-wall cooking show which features great food, a variety of guests, and lots of fun!  In 2004, the show was part of The Food Network’s special presentation, “Funniest Food TV.” 

In addition to his love of food and cooking, Tom is also a stand-up comedian who has been performing since the early 90’s.  He’s been a guest on a variety of television and radio shows, most recently “Feed Your Face with Merrill Schindler” on Los Angeles based radio station KLSX.  A cookbook entitled “From The Stage To The Stove” has also been released, featuring recipes and jokes from comedians including Tom and famous Blue Collar comedians Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall.

Tom is also an active volunteer in the city of Mission Viejo where he has lived for 15 years, donating his time and cooking experience to a variety of events and functions throughout the year.
